Shady Park Angus
was established in 2015 due to a continuing strong interest in Angus cattle, with purchase of top quality foundation females from a family developed cattle stud in 1996, Shadwell Park Angus.
Over the years of breeding seed stock Angus cattle, there has been introduction of new genetics. Elite breeding females have been purchased particularly from herds including Banquet Angus and Merrigrange Angus.
Shady Park Angus chooses performance genetics for breeding programs, selecting high quality Australian bred bulls, however also has an influence of bloodlines from New Zealand and American sires.
Located in Southwest Victoria, Shady Park Angus cattle are run alongside commercial lamb production on property at 'Kanangra,Branxholme', 25km south of Hamilton.
An annual breeding program is conducted mid year using Artificial Insemination (AI), with autumn calving cows producing calves suitable for either preparation as herd replacing females, or quality stud bulls
for local producers.
AI breeding is an advantage for Shady Park Angus, as it allows access to a wide range of proven leading Angus sires. Particular performance traits are selected to focus on producing progeny suitable for the commercial market.

Cattle are chosen for good temperament and structural soundness.
All cattle are physically measured from birth on wards, and recorded for their individual performance characteristics, with regular submissions to BREEDPLAN through Angus Australia.
Angus BREEDPLAN is a program that genetically evaluates cattle using technology to produce Estimated Breeding Values (EBVs) to predict important production traits.
BREEDPLAN information can be used to determine expected genetic outcome of an animal, and is useful during sire selection and comparison between bulls when choosing particular traits for breeding programs.

Affordable Angus Cattle
Herd Book Registered (HBR) bulls
are produced annually.
Bulls are on display for inspection and are available for private sale on property during open day at BEEF WEEK, January/February each year.
Beef Week is a Victoria-wide event for showcasing stud beef cattle, supported by Stock and Land.
